Hello

I have been browsing the forums for some time now and its great info here, and people is doing an great jobb.

I had some questions about how it works with this system.

I do understand that the sip is connected trough the vicidial server but how does it work in the agents end, do they need an softphone connected to the server some way or is the call comming straight from the webinterface?

Hope you understand english isent my native language and im not familair with this kind of dialer.

Yes agents needs a softphone

But they are running trials with webphones but i dont know status on it.

agent -------> asterisk server -------------> sip provider


the softphone is needed to establish voice connectivity so the agent can receive calls once a call is passed to him by the dialer

Thanx for the quick answers, know i get how it works, and then i would need additional phone accounts to the different softphones to?

you need to create sip accounts for other softphones to register to the asterissk server

Have you tried to install vicidialer?

I would recommend you to download vicibox redux

Just be aware that you only need one sip-provider

Do you have experiens of other dialers?

Yes i have already installed the vicibox package and its running well, just talking with some sip proiders for good prices.

Yes i have been working with some other dialers before since ive been working as seller and manager, but never to this "detailed install"

You only "need" one sip provider, but i recommend at least three. this allows for checking quality across providers and redundency in case of failure. especially if you intend to stake your livelihood (and that of 15-20 sales reps) on this system.
