Is Queuemetrics Worth it?

Postby dlasry » Mon Nov 29, 2010 5:23 am

Do you guys think Queuemetrics adds a lot of value to the reporting that is already built into ViciDial?
Beyond presentation, the bells and whistles: What do you find its value is?

I am using ViciDial mostly inbound with some manual outbound calling, and would love to hear what you think.

I would say that if somebody sponsors proper integration between Jasper Reports and Vicidial it will be a better option because it is also open source.

Just my 2 cents.

We have several clients that sponsor the continued compatibility of ViciDial with QueueMetrics. They all used Asterisk and QueueMetrics before using ViciDial and wished to maintain the reporting that they were used to. I don't believe we have any clients that started using QM after they started using ViciDial.

Jasper Reports is more of a reporting platform that you need to write specific reporting metrics for, so it would not require the same kind of maintenance as the QM integration does.

I understand what you are saying.

Am I correct in assuming that Jasper would be a great solution for historical reporting, but not real time?

We have clients that do real-time reporting with jasper reports, so it is possible.

so it would not require the same kind of maintenance as the QM integration does.

Do you mean by this that Jasper Reports will be easier or more difficult to maintain than QM?

Jasper reports is what you make of it, and if you have it use the same formulas that ViciDial does, then there should be no maintenance needed.

Any NEW reports created in Vicidial may not exist in Jasper, but then again you can create ANY report you want in Jasper already, so I'm not sure that's an issue.

The only concern is a major change in the way Vicidial stores data, which I do not see happening any time soon. :)
