VM - Virtual appliances

Has any one created a Virtual Apliance with all the apps needed to run Vicidial & astGUIClient?

That's pretty far in the future from here. There is a lot that needs to be done to VICIDIAL before we get to that point. Right now we're just trying to see if we can get a package together with trixbox(formerly Asterisk@home) which is one step closer to a virtual appliance, or at the very least a very quick install.

There's already a virtual appliance for Asterisk@Home (http://www.vmware.com/vmtn/appliances/directory/49) so once there's a package integrated to tribox it seems that the leap from there won't be that big.

Any idea how the VMware Virtual Appliance works with no hardware zaptel timer for meetme?

I've read that using VMware with Linux and Asterisk causes all sorts of timer problems for meetme and music on hold.

Why use the VM Virtual Appliance with a POTS (zapatel)? It should be simplers to just use sip trunks Via ITSP for this.

You cannot run meetme without a zaptel timer whether it is hardware or software based, nothing to do with actually using POTS lines.

I had this originally running with the Zaptel pseudo timer exported into each container, now running with app_confrence, which does not require a timer...worked well with meetme and the pseudo driver, I will comment back after further testing of the app_conference...
