How to use the Filter Phone Group the right way?

Hi guys

Based on my search in this forum, for vicidial to block an inbound call to a specific phone number you have to use Filter Phone Group under Inbound Menu. I've tried setting up one with my Server but the problem is it just work only once. After making a test for the second and third time the calls are going through and not redirecting to the default extension number which is 9998811112. Here are the steps I've taken to create/setup an Filter Phone Group:

* Go through Inbound menu
* Click "Add Filter Phone Group" and give the appropriate details for it
* Next I go to "Add-Delete FPG Number"
* Add the desired phone number to block/redirect the call
* Next I go to the appropriate DID(ie 123456)
* Next Under the DID(ie 123456) I enabled the "Filter Inbound Number:" and select GROUP
* Next in "Filter Phone Group ID" I chose the Filter Group Name I've made earlier
* Then Lastly I select CIDLOOKUPRL in "Filter In-Group Call Handle Method:"

Is my procedure correct? Did I miss anything?

Please hope someone can help me with this as it is driving us crazy, because the caller keeps calling everyday.

Post the did logfile output or the Asterisk CLI output from the screenlog.0 file for both a successful and unsuccessful call filtering. You will need to have Server Logging set to BOTH before you do this.

@mflorell - how can I do that? "You will need to have Server Logging set to BOTH before you do this"

Server Logging is an option set per server in Admin -> Servers.

@geoff3dmg - do you mean like this? "Server Logs: Y". I've found that config on Admin-Servers

Yes, that and the next option down. Set 'AGI Output' to 'BOTH' as well.

@geoff3dmg - after I have set it to 'BOTH' do I need to restart my vicidial server?

Unsure, probably best to do that though.

@geoff3dmg - oh ok, since there is a dial maybe I'll be doing this on weekends. I'll get back to you ASAP when I've set this up.

You would need to do this testing when the telephony server is not being used. Otherwise it is very difficult/slow to figure out what is going on, depending on how good you are with grep. :)

@all - thanks for your responses with this problem. it is now working fine, this is just a hunch but i think the reason why it is not playing the goodbye-vm again and again when the system receives the blocked phone number is because in our dialer we have 3 inbound number with the same DID provider and also configured with different ip addresses. when i bought a different DID and test it again and again the calls cant get through anymore. i can clearly hear the voice message goodbye-vm.
