Totally out of left field but has anyone think of a Discord server for VICIDIAL?

We usually tend to shy away from proprietary closed platforms(like Discord) that require you to give them unrestricted rights to everything you post to it.

Understand, Just to clarify I was thinking for a community hang out similar to IRC not for use with VICIDIAL.

Vicidial has a chat-server built in for communication between agents, agents to managers, and agents to public. So a discord link-up is not necessary from that standpoint.

If by this you mean "move the discussion to a discussion server", this isn't a discussion. It's a tech support site that's heavily indexed by Google already. Moving this conversation elsewhere would splinter the existing support information and alter the way support is provided. I'm not sure how well discord servers are indexed, but I'm not confident that finding information in a discord server would be user-friendly. So a solution provided to a user in the middle of a discord conversation would then disappear into the ether forever.

So, just like IIRC and all the other conversational systems out there ... nope.

I do remember hanging out in the Asterisk ICR channels many years ago, it could be very useful and most of Digium's developers were on there to help people way back in 2003, but it didn't prove very good for their time utilization or their bottom line so they greatly scaled-back the help they offered on there pretty quickly. I certainly don't have any objections to anyone creating a Vicidial Community IRC or discussion channel out there, but I probably wouldn't spend much time myself on there.
