High vicidial cpu usage

Have a new vicidial box setup to do some broadcast dialing.

Noticed something unusual in cpu usage and was wondering if anybody had any ideas.

If I log into my Trixbox machine and run the top command I can see that the asterisk process consumes very minimal cpu usage (with very occasional spikes).

If I log into my Vicidial machine and run the top command however I can see that the cpu usage is pegged at > 95%. Note that the box is only doing broadcast dialing between 6&10PM and is not doing anything right now.

I went ahead and rebooted the box and cpu usage is now as expected (almost nothing). Is there any known issues with the current vicidial release that cause a runaway asterisk process?

I am going to do some tests today and try and narrow down exactly what is causing it but thought somebody might have come across the issue already.

I'm also a little confused by the server performance report as well since I don't know what a "realistic" server load should be. If I run the server performance report for 2 hours yesterday afternoon when the box wasn't doing anything I get the following:

VICIDIAL: Server Performance 2008-06-03 10:36:26
Time range: 2008-06-02 14:00:00 to 2008-06-02 15:00:00

---------- TOTALS, PEAKS and AVERAGES
Total Calls in/out on this server: 0
Total Off-Hook time on this server (min):
Average/Peak channels in use for server: 2.9555 / 3
Average/Peak load for server: 246.7039 / 308
Average USER process cpu percentage: 46.7065 %
Average SYSTEM process cpu percentage: 53.2935 %
Average IDLE process cpu percentage: 0.0000 %

What is normal for load?

Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks.

Darryl

Latest version of VicidialNow.

CentOS 5.1

Asterisk version 1.2.27

Astguiclient version 2.0.4

Using one AIX trunk.

Did you install CentOS as Desktop or Server?

Wish I knew the answer to that question.

I put the ViciDialNow disk in computer and let it do its thing. It was a fully automated install.

Darryl

FYI: The high cpu usage might have been a fluke. We have run another couple of tests importing lists and calling people and the issue has not occured again.

At this point I'll consider it a side affect of all the testing / monkeying around we were doing and am going to put it on the back burner for now.

Thanks anyway.
