Is there any list of what each of the files in the Extras folder does? I quite a few of them wondering if its worth it for me to implement them.

Just looking at the source code of the ones that interest you is the best way. Most of those were added because we use them as internal tools and we wanted to make them available to others.

Did you have any specific questions about any specific scripts?

1.4_gsm_gcc4.2.patch:

I assume this is something for gsm codec and asterisk 1.4. Just not sure why its there.

Vtiger510_vicidial_001_noclose.patch:

What does this one do?

The GSM patch is for Asterisk 1.4 on systems using the 4.2 version of gcc patch.

The Vtiger patch is for ViciDial click to dial functionality in Vtiger
