I have a client that wants the ability to have people call an 800 dial an ext that would point to external cell phone numbers. After caller dials the ext asterisk or vici would dial the cell phone number associated with the ext. Person on the cell would answer a prerecorded msg is played to the caller "You have a call from ABC push 1 to accept or 8 to disconnect".

I know I've heard of people doing that with Asterisk before. It's not really a VICIDIAL-related feature.

freepbx has similar functionality within "Queues". may require with a slight tweak to allow the rejection of the call (including the ability to play the announcement to the agent upon answering by the cell phone)

we use it to announce which corporation name to use when answering, for instance, if there are several companies but one receptionist "Answer as XYZ Corp."

The ability to reject the call I believe is inherent (hang up during the answer as) and the call continues on in the queue. The caller hears music the whole time (or ringing). but i don't think i've tested that.
