Auto Configuation

Postby spinto » Mon Nov 23, 2009 7:38 am

the sip-vicidial.conf doesn't reflect the phone settings. It looks it uses a secret "test" even though a different secret is specified in the admin panel. Also, when I put the caller id in the admin settings it doesn't save it to the config file.

After modifying the phone through the admin panel, I go to the server the phone is registered with and click on submit to auto-generate the files. It looks like it's updating the sip-vicidial.conf file since the date/time of the file is updated.

Not sure if I'm missing something, but shouldn't the conf file reflect what's in the database for the phones?

Scratch that. I thought the password field in the admin page is where the secret goes. I didn't see the Conf File Secret field at the bottom of the form.

Yep, that's major change number 26 in the UPGRADE doc:

26. Added a conf_secret field to phones table to be used as sip.conf/iax.conf password instead of the pass field. Please check that this is set properly if you are having phone registration issues

It works.

Also, the only section that's not populating the configuration file is the voicemail link in the admin panel. I add voicemail boxes to this section, then go to servers and generate conf files, but for some reason it's not creating these voicemail boxes. It's only creating voicemail boxes setup in the phones section.

Is this a multi-server system?

What is the voicemail server set to in System Settings?

That was it. I didn't setup the voicemail server in the system settings.

Thanks.
