Voice Time USB

Postby carsonrose » Mon Aug 12, 2013 11:58 pm

I have the voice time usb dongle installed. During installation, I did wanpipe-compile - per the manual.....Which I have been following to the letter.... It seems to go smooth, alot of output and then it finishes without errors. However:
Code: Select all
vici:~ # wanrouter hwprobe

FATAL: Error inserting wanpipe (/lib/modules/3.1.10-1.29-default/kernel/drivers/net/wan/wanpipe.ko): No such device

AND

Code: Select all
vici:~ # lsusb
Bus 001 Device 001: ID 1d6b:0002 Linux Foundation 2.0 root hub
Bus 002 Device 001: ID 1d6b:0001 Linux Foundation 1.1 root hub
Bus 003 Device 001: ID 1d6b:0001 Linux Foundation 1.1 root hub

Notice it doesnt say anything about Sangoma...Just that Sygal junk...

Is this a false error? Is my voicetime usb dongle working properly? I dont want to proceed to vicibox-install until I know this part is taken care of... Any ideas?

Theres a lot of posts on this topic, the usb timer doesnt work with DAHDI 2.6. Contact sagnoma and explain to them most people that buy their usb device is for vicidial, as they dont seem to have insight into their customer base..

So I suppose my only alternative is to load a Vici build prior to Dahdi 2.6.... ?

Well, you could do that.. Im not sure how it will affect performance as theres a lot of updates since then, even if using the SVN. I tried the reverse which was to re-compile dahdi and asterisk but the kernel is custom so it may cause massive issues. I would try the x100p if you have a pCi slot, other cards are very expensive. Kumba stated in reply to my previous post "We recommend you look at a Digium card of the Amfletec PCI-Express timers if you want something that works out of the box with ViciBox v.5.0".

Try ebay..

One last thing... How would I go about finding the latest build of Vici, prior to Dahdi 2.6?

Seems like any iso prior to ViciBox v.4.0 RC1 according to release notes. http://www.vicidial.org/VICIDIALforum/v ... =8&t=25832

Also you'd have to change the subject of the topic to include "- RESOLVED"

Looks like from above that you dont have the driver installed, drivers and related troubleshooting is at http://wiki.sangoma.com/sangoma-wanpipe-voicetime , this would no longer be a vici issue.
