All installation and configuration problems and questions

I have done everything in phase 1 of scratch installation but cant do phase 2. When I am rebooting its askes to insert boot media. When I put salckware disk 1 it actually does installation again. What to do??

Did you install the same kernel you used to boot with?
Did you install lilo on the MBR?

thanks for ur reply. Well I followed that scratch and its says root works most the time. So do I have to do installation again?

It only takes a few minutes to do the install over so that would be my best answer at this time unless anyone else knows a surefire way to fix him up fast!

He can use a live cd like mepis and install a bootloader. They use grub but I think lilo is on it also .
