Dropped Percentage

Postby jamesnorris889 » Thu Oct 31, 2019 2:14 pm

Hi Team,

VERSION: 2.12-515a
BUILD: 151007-2224

The server spec is Intel Xeon E3-1230 v3m, 16gb RAM 1tb Sata 7200 RPM.

We are running survey campaign on autodial, using remote agent.

What does Dropped Percentage signify ?

I was reading manager's manual and read below definition.

"A dropped or abandoned call is a call that is shown
as answered by the carrier and was not able to be sent to an agent before the line was hung up."

So technically, i understand what a dropped call is, but i want to understand more about Dropped Percentage is. If it is a carrier issue or server setting issue.

Its a livecall from autodialing and no agent is available. So it will be drop if no one receives the call.

Hi Garski,

Thanks for replying.

Since its a survey campaign, using remote agents. Remote agent is there to answer the call. Then how it gets dropped ?

How exactly are your Remote Agents set up?

Also, the version of VICIdial you are using is over 4 years old, we strongly suggest upgrading to the latest svn/trunk revision which fixes many bugs and security issues.

HI MFlorell,

The version we are using is old. Soon we will update.

We have set-up remote agents with 10 lines. We have created a custom dialplan(extension) which would ring 5 extensions. So in external extension field we have put that custom dialplan extension number. So if someone presses opt-in digit, the calls will ring those five extensions.

What we are curious about is, though, dropped percentage% in reports. Sometimes the dropped percentages increase drastically. How exactly the dropped percentage is measured ? and what is criteria for a dropped call ? We read about it in Manager's manual but but it didn't seem clear.

Is it a carrier issue or a setup issue ?

The drop call seconds determines how long your system will wait before "dropping" the call. If the call is ringing when that time arrives, it is dropped.
