Hi all, I am new to vicidial and voip. I want to know something:
1-Can I make call without a provider on vicidial?
2-What information should I get from a provider? And how do I use it in vicidial?

Thanks for your answer.

My vicidial installation:
ViciBox_v9.x86_64-9.0.2.iso installed in vmware.

You need a carrier for a sip trunk and you have to pay for channels. You may want to read the managers manual.

I am currently reading this manual and I am in the tutorial C. So my question is can I use exactly the same config as in this book? or there is provider information needed?

For each carrier's "account entry", the carrier will provide you with some requirements (such as whether or not to include a user or password).

For each carrier's Dialplan Entry .... The dialplan entry samples have three lines, all of which are required. Carrier's don't care about any except line two (dial), whereas one (agi) and three (hangup) are required by Vicidial in addition to that Dial line.

Note that all three lines will have the same extension pattern, as the extension pattern (eg: _91NXXNXXXXXX) is what links them together as a diaplan entry for "that carrier". Two carriers may NOT have the same diaplan entry any more than two adults can sit in the same bicycle seat.

Line 1: agi script (required, see examples, exactly as shown: AGI(agi://127.0.0.1:4577/call_log))
Line 2: dial ... this requires specific options, use those provided in the examples (eg: ,,To). Otherwise the format of the Dial command is merely to get the Carrier to acknowledge and make the call.
Line 3: hangup (required, see examples, exactly as shown: Hangup)

We can help you setting up a trunk for this and get you up and running in seconds

We are a carrier using Stir Shaken Technology, give us a try and you will see results for yourself, in order to get best quality and NO FAS, you will need:

- Good Caller IDs ( Either get ours for Token A or bring yours for Token B )
- Use Rotation of caller IDs to not get them flagged so fast
- Remove DNC numbers from your list ( we can do it for free, this will burn DIDs faster )
- And we can guide you thru a process of what we have seen worked and help other customers to increase ASR

We can help you guys and point in to the right direction
