I have an error when i run:

/usr/local/mysql/bin/mysqld_safe --user=mysql --skip-name-resolve --skip-host-cache &

error:

/usr/local/source/mysql-5.0.67# nohup: ignoring input and redirecting stderr to stdout

before you tried to start mysql, did you check to see if it was already running?
