DTMF Vici Dial Now

Postby cottonking2000 » Wed Apr 15, 2009 6:39 pm

Take a deep breath...

We have a Vicidial Box that works. Which is great. However, we have to do 3rd party verification. The current DTMF postings for Vicidialnow (latestest and greatest) does not send a DTMF tone long enough to be picked up from the third party group. However, if you add ,#, to the DTMF field, then the tone is sent but with a delay of about 2 seconds.

We call in sip currently but the conference calls are in iax/voip...

First wack at a change I did to get it to work with out the , on the outside of the pound sign is:
1.

jitterbuffer=no ;in the iax.conf file

Change 2.

dtmfmode=inband
dtmfmode=rfc2833 ;in the agent setup for each agent iax.conf

change 3.

; setup account for SIP trunking:
; [SIPtrunk]
; disallow=all
; allow=ulaw
; allow=alaw
; type=friend
; username=mmmmm
; secret=mmmm
; host=10.10.10.16
dtmfmode=inband ;added to the truck for sip
dtmfmode=rfc2833
relaxdtmf=no
; qualify=1000

change 4:

[trunkgroups]
toneduration=10000 ;zapdata.conf
[channels]

#context=unused
#signalling=fxs_ks
#channel => 01

The tone is still the same. Quick and not working. I figured it is out of band for the DSP to pick up and the , somehow open and hold the channel long enough to make the tone...

Anyfixs for this? Ideas help free beer? LOL peace out.

DTMF is always tricky, especially when you use SIP/IAX/Zap all together. Not sure what to recommend on this, there is a new option on the agi_dtmf.agi to send out-of-band DTMF signals. Are you running 2.0.5?

2.0.5 Nope

Postby cottonking2000 » Thu Apr 16, 2009 8:42 am

I am not running 2.0.5

However, I am using KIAX softphone. The system worked fine for us using the KIAX softfone when we clicked #. Now it tries to transfer us. The transfer is due to a switch to SIP from IAX.

Our path to resolution is to try and cripple the # feature that wants to send us to a extension. The DTMF works fine on the keypad for KIAX. I would think that a quick work around can be figured (my task for now)...

Will start a new thread for # cripple ideas

Try switching from "#" to" ," (coma) on the DTMF box. "#" is the default transfer button of Asterisk.

lamma comma

We did this with success to transfer a DTMF signal.

However, the signal is delayed by a second as per the default delay with the comma and the notes in the code.

This is a solution but does not activate our systems fast enough.....so we have multi player loops on our 3rd party verification.

Thxs for the info.

Best solution is the KIAX softphone # we are trying to turn off for transfer

THE SOLUTION WAS:

features.conf file

[featuremap]
blindxfer => *3 ; Blind transfer
;disconnect => *0 ; Disconnect
;automon => *1 ; One Touch Record
;atxfer => *2 ; Attended transfer

Disable the #

Now you can use the softfone to do the DTMF
