Campaign Callerid not working

Postby hbravo » Fri Jun 26, 2009 11:41 am

I have configured my campaign to use a specific Caller ID, but it is not working. Unknow or Private is showed when making calls to PSTN in USA.
Currently using VicidialNow 1.2 (2.0.5). Trixbox and Vicidial are installed on separate boxes.

Actually, using a Trixbox Server with IAX2 Trunk to make outbound calls.
Using Voicepulse as VoIP provider.

I have also tried configuring a Carrier (trunk) on the vicidial server, so we can make outbound calls directly from vicidial, but it is the same. Caller ID not working.

Do I have to change something in the Dial Plan ?

This is the Dial plan for the trunk:

exten => _5.,1,AGI(agi://127.0.0.1:4577/call_log)
exten => _5.,2,Dial(${SIPTRUNKVP}/${EXTEN:1},,To)
exten => _5.,3,Hangup

Please, help!

Does your carrier allow you to set outgoing CIDnumber?

Are you setting it to a number that you own and has been approved by your carrier?

Voicepulse supports only a 10-digits CallerID.

The number I am using is a number from the pool of VoicePulse.

TrixBox has a setting in the Trunk Setup that stops the caller id from being changed. If you are routing the calls over IAX to trix then to the carrier the trix macros may be changing the caller id set by vici

I have not seen any recent versions of trixbox but it took me a while to get it right using the same setup with trixbox 2.2.3

I ultimately had to add a custom extension to get around the trixbox macros.

Can you set up the carrier directly on vici? or are there other factors involved such as NAT pointing the sip ports to the trixbox?

This is most always caused from the carrier. Alot of cheapy co's use least cost routing and have no control over the call destination. This often leads to inconsistant DTMF modes as well.

Do some local calling/testing to check your caller id. If you have another carrier switch to them for a test.
