Outbound call sent to agent without notification

Postby bryceowen » Tue Dec 08, 2009 5:42 pm

Something that's been happening a bit lately is what our agents describe as 'dead calls' being connected to them. Rather than getting the normal connection tone, the call connects without making a sound and, usually, the lead has already hung up.

The biggest problem is the lack of notification. The screen will pop with the lead information, but if the agent isn't paying attention to the screen, they'll end up sitting in a dead call for up-teen seconds until someone catches it or they look at the screen.

Is this normal behavior? If so, is there something I can change to force the notification tone?

please post your full installation information (vicidial version and build is COOL, don't get me wrong ... but OS, hardware, etc., can sneak up on us.) I'd LIKE to assume Vicibox Server, but I can't assume hardware. I also don't know what ELSE you have running, or how you upgraded to 2.2.0 (SVN co or just downloaded or copied from another box??) I haven't ASSUMED since I watched the bad news bears in the 70s. LOL

in this case, i'd also like to know the load of the server when this occurs (unless it happens "any time") and whether you've tried an alternate carrier. i've had a few carriers with problems today "upline" myself, and simply switched to another carrier for the rest of the day to resolve the issue (at least for the customers who heeded the warning "ALWAYS HAVE A BACKUP PROVIDER".

For those of us NOT bright enough to host at a guaranteed SIP trunk hosting facility (the Vicidial Group offers this, of course, but most colo facilities do NOT), the SIP trunks is the "backbone" of the system and must be safeguarded.
