"Breakout" from in-group

Postby tweidner6471 » Thu Dec 10, 2009 11:40 am

In the svn (2.2) is there any way to allow the customer to exit from an in-group queue?

For example, someone dials in and gets routed to ABC in-group. While in that queue, I need a way to allow the customer to press a key and drop out of the queue into a call menu or voicemail.

I'm not sure if that is entirely possible with the current design, and I already have a work around, I'm just wondering if there is a formal way to do this.

There is a hold-time option to drop out to voicemail or an extension based upon the estimated hold time.

I saw the hold time options, but I can't get any of them to work in an on demand fashion.

I was looking at the inbound agi, and I see that press_vmail drops into a voice mail call menu, but I think my issue is that the hold time option is variable where as I need the option to drop to vm to always be available, triggered by a key press.

If it requires some modification to the scripts, that's fine, I just haven't had a huge amount of time to go over all of the revisions in 2.2 yet, so I'm not sure where to best begin.

PRESS_VMAIL does require a key press at the time of the announcement to send the call to a voicemail box.

You can get hold time options to be triggered on all calls by setting the hold time seconds to 1.

Fantastic, looks like it's working as needed. Thank you for the quick response.

As a side note, is there a 2.2 manager's manual available yet, or a planned release date?

No new manual yet, that usually comes when we break off into a branch and stop new development on the branch. There is no estimated release date currently, but we are hoping to be able to put out the release in the next month.

Great. So far the improvements are amazing. We're actually porting over all of our trixbox managed call queues into VD. Can't wait to see the final version.
