Silence when a call is being placed

Postby ontheway » Sat Oct 29, 2011 2:51 pm

I get that I am the only person in this conference.

I make a call and the phone that I call does ring, but niether side can hear anything.

This is the scripting that appeared when I placed the call:

test by turning off your firewall. for one call. if that's it, open 10000-25000 UDP to your server for voice transmission (5060 is for control, also UDP, but seems to work if the call is generated, so you likely just need 10k-25k)

I turned off the firewall and changed the UDP from 10000-20000 to 10000-25000 and still no luck.

It is try to connect to a conference that I dont see in the vici interface. I have conference up to 8600049. I think it's try to establish something in 8600052. I'm not sure if that's making any sense. Any other suggestions that you think may help?

have you set this up according to the Vicidial Manager's Manual? (we try to avoid reproducing the step by step setup procedure for each new user ... and rehashing the "did ya do this part?" ... it is much simpler to have a manual ...). Available at EFLO.net (free download, also a paid version with deeper information, highly recommended the day you make your first $$ with the system).

Also, posting your carrier settings when having a carrier problem is not a bad concept. (all of them).

i was not referring to the firewall in the Vicibox server (you can turn that off for testing). I meant the firewall protecting your local network from the internet, which also acts as a NAT (converting Public internet to Private internet addresses). That router must also be told to send 10000-25000 to this server. If that firewall has a "sip alg" or anything similar, it may need to be toggled (turn it off it it's on, on if it's off)
