ViciBOX7 Help

Postby iboam » Mon Feb 08, 2016 2:44 pm

Hi i was running a vicidial as an admin for the last 3 months, now i decided to run a test server with a i5 processor 8gb ram and 1tb hd for at least 10 agents.
i installed a Vicibox7 and all the settings for yast,g729 and g723 codecs, im able to ping any server from the command line even create users, phone numbers, outbound and inbound campaign, user groups, test carrier and all the basic settings for vicidial.

BUT ...
1- everytime i login to the agent client i got an no one is in your session: 8600051
2- cant use xlite, eyebeam, bria (Cant Connect)
3- no inbound or outbound call.
4- what sip provider do you recommend for us ??

Any suggestion ???

1) Welcome to the Party! 8-)

2) As you are obviously new here, I have some suggestions to help us all help you:

When you post, please post your entire configuration including (but not limited to) your installation method and vicidial version with build.

This IS a requirement for posting along with reading the stickies (at the top of each forum) and the manager's manual (available on EFLO.net, both free and paid versions)

You should also post: Asterisk version, telephony hardware (model number is helpful here), cluster information if you have one, and whether any other software is installed in the box. If your installation method is "from scratch" you must post your operating system and should also post the .iso version from which you installed your original operating system. If your installation is "Hosted" list the site name of the host.

If this is a "Cloud" or "Virtual" server, please note the technology involved along with the version of that techology (ie: VMware Server Version 2.0.2). If it is not, merely stating the Motherboard model # and CPU would be helpful.

Similar to This:

Vicibox X.X from .iso | Vicidial X.X.X-XXX Build XXXXXX-XXXX | Asterisk X.X.X | Single Server | No Digium/Sangoma Hardware | No Extra Software After Installation | Intel DG35EC | Core2Quad Q6600

3) Did you change the IP address of the server at any time during the installation? (if so: you must run the ip update script referred to in the ssh login splash screen)

4) Did you test the server before making changes? (ie: new codecs, that sort of thing) After all, it could have been working until you broke it ... and now you can't go back ...

5) I would personally recommend you reinstall with the Vicibox 6.0.4 .iso installer (I'm not positive that the 7.X installer is perfected yet, although it may work just fine).

6) I would also recommend you reinstall several times. Don't add new codecs or software ... just practice installation and register a phone. Add one lead, one carrier, and autodial yourself a few times. Then start over. You'll get used to installing Vicidial and fear will leave your body. LOL

I think something is broken in the lastest vicibox 7 update.

Yesterday i added a new Phone server to an existing clusters and when the agents tried to log in, the softphone wasnt ringing and they were having the "No one is in your session"

I realized that the /etc/asterisk/manager.conf didnt have permission for originate in the cron and sendcron user.

After i add it, we are getting the call but it is not connecting, but i can see a message on the asterisk cli

pbx.c:4926 pbx_extension_helper: No application 'Meetme,${EXTEN}|F' for extension (default, 8600052, 1)

Im still looking for how to solve it.

Please note that i made an zypper update after install, i have succesfully installed 5 server using Vicibox 7, but today i made the zypper update and there was an asterisk update, maybe that is what it is broken, i will reinstall without zypper update and will report back results.

To be honest i am not really sure about how i fixed this, but it is working now.

I reinstalled several times before noticing that there was an error during the installation process

Code: Select all
Configuring Telephony Server...
Can't exec "/usr/src/astguiclient/conf/vicibox-tel.sh": Permission denied at /usr/local/bin/vicibox-install line 423, <STDIN> line 11.

So i juts make

Code: Select all
chmod +x /usr/src/astguiclient/conf/vicibox-tel.sh
./usr/src/astguiclient/conf/vicibox-tel.sh
reboot (just in case)

And now it is working, im not even sure what does that script do.

Also i manually added the originate permission to the cron and sendcron users in /etc/asterisk/manager.conf because by default when i run vicibox-install it wasnt including that permission.

I would not take this as reliable source of reference just because i didnt follow any real procedure for this, instead i was trying a lot of things and in the end it worked.

Excellent postback. You should post this in the Vicibox 7 .iso release notice. Kumba may have interest if this is a recently broken bit.

"No such extension/context 17863251053@default" usually means you have the wrong dial prefix in the campaign or you have not installed your carrier correctly (or both).

Have you read the Vicidial Manager's Manual?

What SVN revision are you installing?

ViciBox v.7 ships with Asterisk v.11. If you told it to use an older SVN code base that doesn't support Asterisk v.11 then it will default to using Asterisk v.1.4 for extensions, manager, etc. This is one of the biggest problems I've seen with installs lately. This is also likely what happened to your install.

All the vicibox-tel.sh script does it set-up the ram drive for recordings and create some of the system sounds.

Instructions here:

.iso here (I know this one works, and it's the one the PDF above is designed for):

verify .iso MD5 signature against this to be sure your download was valid:

Dunno. I hope so. We haven't used the PDF instructions for quite some time (our technicians don't need them). But I've been telling people to use the PDF for installation since Kumba built it and I've never had someone come back to me and say "it don't work". So I'm gonna go with "yup, should work fine!".

Be sure you switch to the Vicidial Manager's Manual as soon as the primary installation is complete. Don't skip pages in the Manager's Manual. Seriously. Do everything starting at the first page and if you feel you need to skip something, mark it with a highlighter and DON'T skip it next time (after your install fails because you skipped it ... LOL).

1) In that case I will reiterate my earlier statement: Download the Vicidial Manager's Manual and start at page one. It's free. It's not like this is rocket science, but if you don't follow the manual and it doesn't work ... perhaps you should try the manual.

2) You posted your carrier SIP username and password. I hope you altered them. If not, go change them NOW before someone starts making calls on it.

3) Your globals string may not be working. Based on your post it should, but something is not loading into asterisk properly. Verify in the /etc/asterisk/sip-vicidial.conf file.

4) You did not post your Dial Prefix from the campaign. This could mean that the carrier you posted is not the carrier being used.

5) You should have a dial prefix of 9 and your dialplan entries should all have "91NXXNXXXXXX" instead of just the 1 (or in addition if you want both to be possible). This way you can have multiple carriers active at the same time.

This does not match your earlier post. And it does not match the value in the globals string. That's likely your problem. Besides not reading the manual, of course.

iboam wrote:Yes i did it but nothing happens ... could you connect by teamviewer to my computer ??? please

Making that change would only record the new values in the database. For "something to happen" you would have to repeat your earlier test. And when you repeat your earlier test, instead of
Executing [117863251053@default:2] Dial("Local/117863251053@default-00000052;2", "/17863251053,,tTo") in new stack

you should get
Executing [117863251053@default:2] Dial("Local/117863251053@default-00000052;2", "SIP/SIPUS/17863251053,,tTo") in new stack

And after that there should be other differences that indicate a whole new problem. Possibly.

If you had money on an account with my company, I could of course intervene directly. We usually only charge $25 to connect a carrier (at our Priority Service Level, which takes a few days to come up in the line). For "right now" service, it would be either $50 or $100 (depending on how immediately you want the help) and it would require that the carrier in question use standard signalling. No way to know that until we've sent them a call and awaited their response.

On a technical note, the "context=" should ALWAYS be "context=trunkinbound" in Vicidial. There's never a situation where it needs to be different unless you want to block all inbound calls from this connection.

At the moment you have left it with not submitting an example after that change. Another anomaly is that "117863251053" does not match "NXXNXXXXXX" or or "1NXXNXXXXXX" "91NXXNXXXXXX" which leads me to believe that the carrier dialplan entry you supplied is not being used. Another carrier entry is in use. This would also block the globals variable string from being used in our previous example. So it is entirely possible that you were correct that nothing changed in the final output.

Perhaps you should modify your original carrier entries and repost them with the corrections and a fresh test. And turn off all other carriers under admin->carriers to be sure nothing else interferes.

There's lots of issues. First off, your whole config that you copy and pasted from your carrier is a FreePBX config, hence the start of your problems. Long story short, you need to rework your config. While global variables are nice, they typically confuse people and become more of a problem then a fix. Below are my notes.

Dialplan should be:
exten => _91NXXNXXXXXX,1,AGI(agi://127.0.0.1:4577/call_log)
exten => _91NXXNXXXXXX,n,Dial(SIP/SIPustrunk/${EXTEN:1},,To)
exten => _91NXXNXXXXXX,n,Hangup()

Your registration string is incomplete. It should be 'register => USER:PASS@gw1.sip.us'.

Also, you have typo's and wrong declarations in your carrier entry.
The 'insecure=vary' directive is a typo to begin with and was deprecated after Asterisk v.1.4. It should be 'insecure=port, invite'.
The 'context' line is from a FreePBX config. It should be 'context=trunkinbound' for vicidial.

You'll need to change your campaigns to use dial prefix '9' for the above config.
