Hi,

I'm new here. I recently set up vicidial installed through vicibox8.iso Everything is working fine. Screen -ls has 11 activities. and dahdi_cfg -vvvvvv is also working fine.

It's only giving waiting for ringing(and dialer never rings phone). Issue is having for both(ie Automated dialing and manual dialing). Finally, I get this message: "Dial timed out, contact your system administrator"

Asterisk: 1.4.21.2
BUILD: 210623-0930
VERSION: 2.14-640c

did you setup a voip carrier on it? and i doubt you are using ast 1.4, thats just what the default installation says on server, you are probably on ast 11. you should download the manual and read so you can learn some things, and read the sticky notes at the top of each subtopic here on the forum. welcome to the family. you may also want to check out my blog in my signature

Thanks for your reply. I have tried different method before posting it.

I have already setup Telnyx carrier. Everything is alright(Below is carrier detail)

[telnyx]
disallow=all
allow=ulaw
allow=g729
type=friend
host=sip.telnyx.com
username=My username here.
secret=my password here
host=dynamic
dtmfmode=rfc2833
context=default

exten => _9NXXXXXXXXXX,1,AGI(agi://127.0.0.1:4577/call_log)
exten => _9NXXXXXXXXXX,2,Dial(${Telnyx}/${EXTEN:1},60,tTor)
exten => _9NXXXXXXXXXX,3,Hangup

Yes, you're right default is asterisk version is 1.4(BUt I have changed it to: 13.21.1-vici)
From Admin -> Server.

Let me know If I made any mistake?

What does the asterisk CLI say when you try to place a call?

When you say that you changed it to asterisk version 13 in Admin > Servers............ do you have asterisk 13 installed, or do you have ast1.4 installed in the server?

Also, why wouldnt you use Vicibox9 if is a new install?

I was having issues with vicibox 9. Zypper ref was not working properly.

That's why I used vicibox 8.

Yes. I changed asterisk version on vicidial after checking version from asterisk CLI.

Try to make a call and copy the output of the CLI here.

For Vicibox9, the zypper ref will give you errors if you try to update. If you install the ISO and DO NOT update, you will have a usable system. Also, there are several threads on how to handle the missing repos.

I would suggest that you install Vicibox9 ISO, do not zypper ref or zypper up. Then update the OS from Leap15.1 to Leap15.2, and you will have an updated complete functional system.

I don't think it's SIP attack.

Asterisk isn't registering for SIP. That's why dialer is getting failed to make calls.

Why calls are not getting connect? It shows: "waiting for Ringing "

Happening on automated and manual dialing.

did you pay for channels with telnyx? they are not free, they are like $12 bucks per channel with them, your carrier is probably not setup correctly

ping google.com is also not working. I think asterisk is not reaching out to the carrier server.

But other carrier doesn't need anything extra. It's also not working.
