Notes on lead not saving

Running on Unix
VERSION: 2.8-406a
BUILD: 130627-0745

My agents have been complaining that they are entering notes into the notes field, however when they pull the lead back up the notes that they entered are no longer there. Any idea what could be happening?

Notes or comments? (Actual field name makes a difference)

Notes are stored in a table so the next agent can also make notes, the agent can go look at prior notes. Have a look at the manual ...

Comments can have similar behavior if audited comments is active. Viewing prior notes/comments are both possible, but different depending on which you are talking about.

Please also post your installation method with version (good job posting your vicidial version with build :) )

1) Welcome to the Party! 8-)

2) As you are obviously new here, I have some suggestions to help us all help you:

When you post, please post your entire configuration including (but not limited to) your installation method (7.X.X?) and vicidial version with build (VERSION: 2.X-XXXx ... BUILD: #####-####).

This IS a requirement for posting along with reading the stickies (at the top of each forum) and the manager's manual (available on EFLO.net, both free and paid versions)

You should also post: Asterisk version, telephony hardware (model number is helpful here), cluster information if you have one, and whether any other software is installed in the box. If your installation method is "manual/from scratch" you must post your operating system with version (and the .iso version from which you installed your original operating system) plus a link to the installation instructions you used. If your installation is "Hosted" list the site name of the host.

If this is a "Cloud" or "Virtual" server, please note the technology involved along with the version of that techology (ie: VMware Server Version 2.0.2). If it is not, merely stating the Motherboard model # and CPU would be helpful.

3) Did you read my previous response? and now I must add a 3rd option, callback notes ... which are stored in a different place than comments and per call notes. So which is it?

Everything we are talking about is on the agents panel. Your response suggests that you are being specific, but I am still leary (after many years of technical support) that what you are saying is not yet specific enough.

So to be clear, the name of the field in question is:

* "Comments:" in the Vicidial tab during a live call (before the "hangup customer" button is pressed)?
* "Call Notes:" in the Vicidial tab (before the "hangup customer" button is pressed)?
* "Call Notes:" in the "Disposition call" screen (after the "hangup customer" button is pressed)?
* "Comments:" in the Vicidial tab AFTER pressing "hangup customer" and then "minimize"?
* "CB Comments:" in the "Select a CallBack Date" screen after pressing hangup customer and choosing a callback disposition?

Do the other fields save their data properly?

Have you observed this behavior personally, or are you taking the agent's word for it?

Is it on all calls, occasional calls, calls that meet certain criteria like campaign or list or ingroup or did ... all agents, some agents ...?

So the problem has nothing to do with the "comments" field, but is actually that your agents can not change client data.

Is this a fresh install? Has this problem always existed? Or is the problem recent?

Have you checked for crashed tables?

Is this a fresh install? Has this problem always existed? Or is the problem recent? It's a fresh install it was working at first then it stops for no apparent reason.

After doing the following. the issue still persisted. than I decided to create a new campaign to see if the issue follow.
After creating the new campaign it didn't happen it was saving all the data. then I decided to look closely on the configuration items that were enabled and bam!! the culprit was the Disale Alter Customer Data :mrgreen:

mysqlcheck --all-databases --auto-repair -p
mysqlcheck --all-databases --optimizer

lol. At least you kept at it. and now you know how to fix broken tables, which will come in handy eventually. 8-)
