Why has this site become a spam-heaven?
I would like to see all spam deleted as fast as possible.

Are you volunteering?
Yes, I'm a bit disappointed in my moderators at this moment as well.
It looks like we were flooded this weekend, I was quite busy and didn't do my usual cleaning nightly on Saturday and Sunday.
I'm clearing it up now, have deleted 10 accounts and over 60 spams so far.
Thanks

You have both been added as moderators. I think that's about it for the moderator additions for now. Please check at least once a day if you can and delete these SPAM postings.
Thanks!

Hi
I know the spammer post randomly
now we have more moderators sitting different places
acrosss the world, so its easy job some one look that and remove now
another my suggestion is, when the user adds as a new to this group.so we will veryfy the user and add in to the list. and maitain some banned email / ip and other setting support by this applications
ram
Kindly post your feedback, if this solution works.
so its very usefull for others who join later as a NEWBIE.

I have been adding the worst offenders to the IP/email-domain ban list, but with thousands of free email domains out there it is not very effective.
Michael_N sent me a link to a utility that helps take care of this stuff. I will try installing it later today if I get the time.

I have installed the toolkit and I have deleted over 2000 spam accounts, sadly there is no cure for spamming as of now, but I have noticed less spam in the last day. We'll se how it does over the weekend.

You can configure it on how many post and days before they can put a link. but that doesnt remove the usernames though

Can you repost it here? Can't seem to find the one you are talking about.
I did find several good filtering ones, but none of them were recent or compatible with 2.0.20 PHPBB that this site uses.

I haven't deleted a single piece of SPAM since I applied that mod. So I think that we should be good for a little while until they figure a way around this one.
Thanks to everyone in this thread for their help and suggestions.
