Building a New Vicidial Server - Hardware configuration Help

Postby hpsmags » Fri Oct 12, 2007 10:04 am

I'm new to Vicidial and Asktrick. I just bought a Server Case. And want to know what do I have to buy in order for everything to work. I'm looking to have a 10-20 seat call center with calls recorded on verification.

Motherboard?
Processor?
Hard drives?
Digi card? phone cards?
Phones?
How do i attach the phones to the server?

Thank you for your help.

Please help.....

Will you be using T1s or SIP/IAX trunks?

Is this for mostly inbound, outbound or blended?

Do you want VOIP hardphone, softphone, or standard analog phones for your agents?

Will you be using T1s or SIP/IAX trunks?

A: Probably T1s but open to all three. I don't know the difference in quality, please suggest the best solution.

Is this for mostly inbound, outbound or blended?

A: I would say 92% will be outbound predictive and 8% will be inbound from people calling back. so Blended. Calling to consumers in the US

Do you want VOIP hardphone, softphone, or standard analog phones for your agents?

A: I don't the which ever is the best quality. please suggest the best solution.

I have had relatively good luck with Ubuntu 7.10 and once i got the jist of everything going on it was a pretty easy install.

Our system has only been active for about a week so I cant vouch to much for long term stability but everything seems to be working so far.

Let me know if I can help in any way

Our Enviorment
------------------
~20 Outbound Callers
2 Inbound reps

Software Configuration
---------------------------
Ubuntu 7.10 Server
Apache
MySQL 5
PHP5
Asterisk 1.4
Vicidial
Xlite (callers softphone)
Mozilla Firefox

I am not certain about hardware specs because we just used an older server we arent using anymore but its something to the extent of...
Dual 3.2ghz Dual Core
4gb Ram
Raid-1 74gb SCSI
Sangoma a104d T1 Card
