How did you find out about VICIDIAL? Please vote and followup with a post explaining your vote!

A SIP service provider was preparing to roll out a customized version of VICIDIAL as a service to my company when I did my own research and decided to deploy my own.

I wrote VICIDIAL because I was tired of having to go through vendors for every little change to a report or feature for existing dialers I was working on. Not to mention it was difficult to write anything that would connect to any of the dialers to work with. I won't even talk about the licensing and maintinance costs.

So I started out over 3 years ago writing VICIDIAL in perl/Tk, and boy was it ugly back then, some people think it's still ugly now

It's grown streadily for the last three years and now it has been translated into 8 languages other than English and is in use in over 30 countries around the world by over 100 companies(115 unique companies in 31 countries claim to use VICIDIAL in production just looking at the last 3 months of survey data from eflo.net)

Now that we have code control in SVN, an issue tracker, a Wiki and of course this very active forum, VICIDIAL has become more than I ever thought it could be. And it will only get better. Thanks to everyone that has helped along the way by testing code, submitting bugs, buying manuals, donating time and/or money and just saying thanks.

When I was still working as an IT Manager in a call center here in the philippines. I was forced to learn asterisk and some guys here offered vicidial. My former boss and the guys didint understand each other so I was tasked to learn vicidial. and that made me proficient enough to work with vic jolin and john peter loh (echosystem guys) now hehehe.

thanks to vicidial consulting now I cant afford to sleep more than 2 hours a day! not that Im complaining $$$$$$

I came to know ASTGuiClient/Vicidial only an hour ago, from a friend in the office.

I m the project leader of http://www.adempiere.org/ that started only one month ago and is now top ten in SF!

My present project is called Cli-CE, an integration between Asterisk's CLI into Compiere CRM (see http://red1.org/forum/viewtopic.php?t=894) . All i did was to to take the CallerID supplied by the asterisk and reuse the callout function so as to give our Dashboard a cool call in and call-out feature (see http://red1.org/compiere/CLIdash.htm )

Presently i m half way through getting SMS to work with the CRM so that a mobile handphone can get a request and reply back a planned action.

Next project is call centre setup and integration to our ERP/CRM. I intend to learn about a call-centre app where I can help contribute features such as the Cli-CE and dynamic IVR (where a caller gets a synthesised voice guidance that is derived from ERP info!)

I've been working with Asterisk for about a year doing basic installs for small companies.

One of the companies I installed Asterisk into asked for a dialler solution. The quote they got from one of their regular suppliers was for 4 agents. The licencing costs alone were £6000. Hardware, database, OS, and phone costs were on top of that.

I'd read about ViCi a few months ago in asterisk forums but never got further than reading through the scratch install and viewing Matts presentation. I liked the look of it but clients wanted other things so I was never able to get stuck into it.

Now I've got a trial period to show the system as a viable option for the 4 head solution with potential for it to grow to 40 seats very quickly.

its a great invention, i should thanks the team working behind.

iam using vici dial all most all 17months in my test labs, its very intresting compare to other commercial products.

this is very usefull who are startup company, who are looking to cost cutting down their capex and opex and increase revenue model.

A word predictive dialer directed me to the VICIDIAL a week ago

I came to know about vici when a co in india offerd a solution based on vicidial. I ahve worked in asterisk for 3 years so i searched for that and i landed on vicidial, that was way back in april 2006, and then i installed in my center. and its running file hv done all kinda R&D and this system is almost perfect

I was introduced to ViciDial by some guy at a meet-up who bribed me with free pizza and water.

Still working my way around the system but it's starting to feel like home

I was at an Asterisk convention and it was introduced there.

I heard about a mortgage company that originally had about 60 manual dialing telemarketers moving to some kind of automated dialing system. Intrigued, I searched around and I found a guy selling Asterisk/Vicidial Servers on Ebay.

He mentioned the word "predictive". I never knew such software existed. That night I found your website.

I like to mention I'm a NOOB in Linux and Asterisk, but so far, I installed it on a Linux Server and is working beautifully.

I have been working as a systems technician with a ICT services company. Vicidial and asterisk made me wonder how those men got an idea to invent such good application. With my limited knowledge in programming, I am still at the junior level although I have work with it for about a year. I hope I would be able to catch some level soon with the help of this forum.

We was planning to create a more productive system than using a phone and some excel lists. Se we talked with a couple of companies. They asked us for 30 clients:
€ 8.000 for 1 server
€ 1.000 each client
€ 5.000 / year for support
€ 2.000 for installation

Ehr, this a little bit too much for us so, since I know and love Asterisk, I've searched on google something to use with it, possibly opensource. And I've found Vicidial

I was in the edge to create my own dialer because a customer ask me this function for an Asterisk PBX but i decide to search in google first to know is somebody has done something like that and voila! Vicidial comes to my life. One of the best software developed around the Asterisk Community. Thanks Matt.

I was forced to learn VICIDIAL when a call centre I worked at folded which was using a proprietor predictive dialer system. When some of the same management started a newer, cheaper call centre months after, I was told that we were going to use asterisk - VICIDIAL, "research it." Few months later and some sleepless nights later, I appreciate the robustness and ingenuity of the system. And I have grown to love the system, looking forward to learning more and seeing it get bigger.

Although he may not remember, I actually worked in the same building as Matt back in the days before Vici had their own place. I remember sitting in his office and watching the dialer do it's thing years and years ago.

It's come a long long way since then, and I've been using it ever since, even if the call centers I worked for didn't. I've used a handful of dialers over the past few years and nothing even comes close to vicidialer, in any respect (excluding slick interfaces, of course).

I find that any time I'm talking to anyone who runs/manages a call center, it always gets around to replacing whatever dialer they're currently using with a vicidial system. Everyone always has little weird problems with their dialer, or small things they'd wish to change but can't (gotta love closed source), and when they hear about this dialer they go all glossy eyed.

im fairly new to vicidial and this is actually my first post i am currently in the process of configuring my first test system for a small call center but so far i have been very impressed and just recently realized that this whole project began just down the road from me as i am in st. pete which i think is great. anyway i stumbled across vicidial searching for new dialer options and can not wait to get my system in production.

Really search from google and baidu. Finished search more than 50 programme about call center and test them one by one. Then selected vicidial finally, very great! Thanks.

I have been using ViciDial for almost 2.5yrs give or take and was 1st introduced to it by a Call Center in Clearwater, FL when I was a Manager and was 1 of 5 ppl who trained to learn to use ViciDial, and I was very intrigued by it considering we were using an old Triple P dialer which was antiquated from the '80's lol. I had a GREAT opportunity to meet with Matt, which I am sure he doesn't remember, LOL Since than I have used nothing else but ViciDial and am VERY impressed at its functionality and its capability.... GREAT JOB ALL !! Keep up the WONDERFUL work! I am learning more and more about the dialer as time goes on.

I'm a Telecom Programmer for my company and we are looking at Asterisk for a possible replacement for our current proprietary pbx software.

I bought a few books to read up on it and heard about this from "Asterisk 1.4 the Professionals Guide"

Since 15 Years i am the CEO of my Call Center and last year we have paid 70.000 € for Dialer Licenses. Then we have a new Project and the System must be adapted for this Project and the IT - Company additionally wanted 30.000 €. At this Moment I want to setup an own System with an own root account and find vicidial.de. I book an Training and now I learn daily more.
Now i have own triggers and Chronjobs at the System and the System runs perfekt.

We paid some shady guy 30k PHP to install Goautodial CE2.1 and never came back after install and I was forced to learn vicidial. So here I am trying to learn bit by bit.

Walked into a clients office and they were using it for their small call center. I honestly didn't realize people actually used it. I was impressed that it actually worked. I'm coming from an enterprise environment that runs on proprietary software, so the feature set was equally impressive.

I've worked in Moscow for Canadien Online Pharmacacy (Canadian Online Pharmacy) and were selling Viagra, Cialis and Levitra to United States and Canadian customers, while found out Vicidial sign right on my working desk and I realized that I'm doing a call through some kind of organized software structure, then I surprisingly found out that it is based on Linux and Asterisk, since I was a systems manager who were searching to expand sales skills in telemarketing area.

Later I've found out about how much Bitcoin is beautiful and how much Satoshi Nakamoto is the most important person of the decade.

I got it on Google search. So all credits go to Google.

I was dragged into vicidal and vtiger integration project for sales team as a php developer. I had to design a custom web from to connect sales web from . vtiger, and few of our internal database. after 2 years of working with it; i have learnt asterisk , vicidial management and still am learning.

Vicidial is an amazing product and it might not look cool but can do some cool stuff. Matt thanks for making such a cool product.
