Distribuited Vicidial: what about my raw project?

Postby DarknessBBB » Thu Sep 04, 2008 11:55 am

Hello everybody,
I'm trying to build (teorically) up a project with a distribuited Vicidial.

This is the main schema:

As you can see I'd like to have a data centre (with optional local call center) and remote callcenters. This way I can "manage" lists, campaign and positive dispositions all at the same place.
I can also add agents of external call centers, obviously going there (sometimes hundreds of miles) for the first installation.

What do you think about it? Any better idea?

What is the scale of this project?

How many agents/phones/trunks?

What kind of bandwidth will you have from one location to another?

Will all master settings be kep in a centralized system?

First of all thank you for answering. I hoped for your answer :)

1) What do you mean?

2) We're talking about 300 agents, 300 phones and 10 trunks distribuited over a dozen of remote callcenters

3) I think they will have at least 2 MB HDSL

4) This is my hope :) :)

This is just a raw project, I don't even know if it is possible to do it with Vicidial :D But if it is, what do you think about the least requirements?

This should be possible since everything in VICIDIAL is done through a database. It might be a lot of work though. The level of central control will dictate how much work it will take you to complete this.

The work doesn't fear me :D and, if the test installation works fine on a single callcenter (I spoke about this in June), maybe they can sponsor vicidial to write down lot of customization... We will see...

Anyway, is the schema correct?

Central Control:
DB-WEB Server
Vicidial Server

Remote Callcenters:
Web Server
Vicidial Server

Do you think that a 4Mb/s HDSL is enough for the central control?

I have not ever attempted what you are going to attempt, so I'm not sure what bandwidth would be required. I think that latency would be an important metric to take into consideration too.
