Feature request : Supervisor Prompt agent while Listening

Hello ,

I wonder if it is possible to enable the agent to be prompted by a supervisor while on a call. The supervisor should be able to guide the agent while listening in, but the customer shall not hear this guidances.

That's the ChanSpy Whisper feature.

It's only available in Asterisk 1.4.0 and is not stable enough to be added at this time.

As the 1.4 tree matures and VICIDIAL recommends it over the 1.2 tree, we will add that as a feature.

An update on this, I have seen bug postings on the Digium bug tracker and some emails on the asterisk mailing lists that using Whisper mode in meetme sessions can cause all kinds of problems, I will update as I see more on this.

If we add an entry in extensions.conf for whisper/chanspy function on a vicidial installation, would that enable us to spy the calls?

I just tried Asterisk 1.4.10 in production and had all sorts of issues, look for another thread on that experience soon, but having said that, I don't think Asterisk 1.4 or the ChanSpy-Whisper functionality are stable enough for production VICIDIAL usage.

Notice, you will see a third option in the realtime to choose between: Listen, Barge or Whisper
