How to recover from line drop

Postby tgirl » Sat Nov 08, 2014 10:08 am

goautodial CE3.0 from ISO | kernel 2.6.18-371.6.1.e15 on an x86_64 | Quad-Core AMD Opteron(tm) Processor 2384 | Asterisk 1.8.23.0-1_centos5.go RPM with goautodial 3.3-1393218000 interface | Single Server | No Digium/Sangoma Hardware | No Extra Software After Installation

Hi

Our broadband service goes down for short periods and quite often causes a failure in the dialer.

Afterwards, if a test manual dial is done, there is a pop and 'whoosh' heard as soon as dial is pressed. The agent's status shows "Calling {number} waiting ..." and the call eventually gives a dial time out error on the agents screen.

The only way to resolve the issue is to reboot the server.

Is there a better way to recover from this? (apart from new broadband provider :-))

thx

Please post your Asterisk CLI when dialing. Also post the results of "sip show peers" from the Asterisk CLI when you encounter this problem.
