We're running GoAutoDial on both VirtualBox and VMware. Just make sure you configure the guest machine to have at least 4GB HD and 256 RAM.

We run it on vm as well, did you install centos first, then add goautodial to store then attach the iso and restart?

Did you get our response for the IVR project? Not to be off topic are you sure you're using the right ISO (GoAutoDial) and not the CentOS?

First, make sure you uploaded your goautodial iso to your datastores

Second, stop the centos vm

Third, attach your CD/DVD drive, select the option to use iso from datastores.

Fourth, the data stores window will open, select the iso you want to install.

Fifth, start the vm, it should see the iso in the CD/DVD, just as it would if you had a physical disc in a physical drive.

The vm should boot from the iso and install your iso and replace the centos you installed with the centos in the iso.

I took some pics of my machine but I can't figure out how to paste them. If you want them, PM me with your email address and I will send them to you.

attach cd/dvd to centos vm

Postby jeffik » Fri Jul 15, 2011 6:11 am

You have to attach cd/dvd then choose data stores, select the iso and start or restart your vm machine. When it starts it looks at the cd/dvd, finds th boot sector in the iso, boots from it and installs

I have tried to post pics but it does not work. If you pm me with your email i can send them to you.

Based on your screenshot you're using a GUI based install of CentOS. The default installation method of GoAutoDial is text based. You definitely got the wrong ISO.

Out of curiosity what coula be going wrong I've just quickly installed 2.1 in VirtualBox without any issues at all. VirtualBox version is 3.2.10 for the record.

Ahh, now I see it, on the New Virtual Machine Wizard, try not to select "Installer Disk Image" and "Easy Install", use the third option, "I will install the OS later", then once the machine is created, mount the ISO and go ahead.

On may want to click on "(What's this?)" to find out what that "Easy Install" thingie is and why is messing up that way.
