ViciBox v.10 Beta 4 and MD image. 99% complete!

Postby Kumba » Mon Jul 12, 2021 4:28 pm

So the big item this is still missing is the finished vicibox-ssl package based around acme.sh instead of certbot.

You can download the ISO here:
http://download.vicidial.com/iso/vicibo ... -beta4.iso
http://download.vicidial.com/iso/vicibo ... -beta4.md5
http://download.vicidial.com/iso/vicibo ... -beta4.iso
http://download.vicidial.com/iso/vicibo ... -beta4.md5

The only thing missing from the above is the geo-blocking functionality. The vicibox-ssl has been corrected and works in a multi-cluster-ish setup and VB-firewall is completely rewritten to wrap around firewalld. The only major feature left is the geo-blocking setup but that will likely come in the final release.

Ahhh, ok. Yeah I did most of the testing with vicibox-express since that sets up everything. It's all the same installer just with some assumed defaults.

I fixed a mysql network issue in the beta config. This was only a problem with clustered installs. Here's a link to a new beta which includes this fix:

http://download.vicidial.com/iso/vicibo ... -beta2.iso
http://download.vicidial.com/iso/vicibo ... -beta2.md5

For those who want to implement the fix, add this line to the /etc/my.cnf.d/general.cnf file:
Code: Select all
bind-address = 0.0.0.0

Found another issue with the webRTC setup. You'll need to edit /etc/asterisk/rtp.conf and remove the stunaddr= line at the bottom of the file. Once you do that you can then run this command to setup the stunaddr in the correct location:

Code: Select all
sed -i "/stunaddr=/c\\stundaddr=stun.l.google.com:19302" /etc/asterisk/rtp.conf

If you do a zypper up before installing it will pull this update through the installer without any issues. Yay! Packaging the things seems to have benefits :P

This forum is full of hypocrites who acts as if they were to help more and ask to share feedbacks.

Also those who acts to help in the forum, they actually helps half way to the solution and make u feel that u must pay them to get further solution to it. Im pretty much confused whether its a forum or a commercial platform?

thanks kashinc, and im sure theres a couple others that would agree(a couple hundred that is) that i have also helped, at no charge i might add. And this is what I do for a living, but when it comes to people from the forum, i dont charge unless, something particular they ask for help for directly to me and offer to pay. Zaraab, I will not feed into your negativity, but perhaps you should check YOUR motives? And FYI, the message I sent to message me on skype is because I run a vicidial enthusiats group chat that I was going to invite you into, which covers over 6 continents and 45 countries worth of people, mostly from this forum. So again I tried to help you, which I personally have helped you since day one youve got here. You really need to take a look at yourself bro. Good luck in business my friend

Firstly, I dont want to mispopulate this thread anymore. Secondly there is two purpose for helping or solving peoples issue. One is to come famous and being under spotlight, another is to spread and innovate and enlighten unconditionally. I agree and its evident in my previous personal threads where you helped me a lot on few things. Everyone can go to those posts and see which I cannot deny at all. I would like to know why kashinc is taking it directly on nox and why is kashinc taking it personally for nox... I am not sure about the fact. I would like to hear from kashinc on this matter. Secondly I haven't yet been specific in terms of naming persons whom I chose to call "hypocrites" I believe kashinc will explain why he took my statement for carpenox!

Very sad this very valuable post is getting lost and being misguided by one guy that feels is your job email or chat with him

@Kumba, keep it up

Looking forward on version 10

When ready, have you guys think of bringing asterisk v16 ?

My personal opinion:
It would be good since number 10 is like a magical number meaning changes and so on, would be good to give a fresh / renewed appearance to agent and admin screens

Other than that, I feel very thankful for the hard work you guys put on every release, and sorry for those that not give the proper value to everything you have done to make this possible

Thanks Vicidial team for so much and for not asking anything else than a feedback !!!

Found one more issue. The VSFTPd client wasn't configured to run as a daemon. This is only an issue when ViciBox is used as an archive server. You can fix that by doing the following:

Code: Select all
sed -i 's/^listen=NO/listen=YES/' /etc/vsftpd.conf

You might need to restart to get it to load.

I can't seem to get the vicidial firewall portal to work properly on the web server using the beta image.... I can get to the valid8 screen and authenticate the ip address but the main vicidial login page never seems to open up on port 80.

The SSL setup script is now working. You can install it by doing 'zypper in vicibox-ssl'. Then you can just run vicibox-ssl to install the SSL certs. I've made this one more cluster-friendly but it will require each server in a cluster to have a unique hostname.

I'll look into the portal to see what it's doing (or not).

Can you show me the crontab entry for VB-firewall? It's location has changed and the crontab entry was wrong. It should be something like this now:

Code: Select all
@reboot /usr/bin/VB-firewall --voipbl --noblack --quiet
0 */6 * * * /usr/bin/VB-firewall --voipbl --noblack --flush --quiet

That's the default, and doesn't include the dynamic portal setup, but you can see it's now located at /usr/bin/VB-firewall as opposed to /usr/local/bin/VB-firewall.pl

Maybe this is the problem?

Well apparently firewall-cmd doesn't like you doing things around it, and that's the problem. So now to decide if I rewrite VB-firewall to wrap around firewall-cmd or some other hackery. Joy...
