vicibox 5.0.3 and packman mirror problem

Postby bghayad » Fri Sep 27, 2013 5:38 pm

Hello;

I am facing a problem while doing installation for vicibox 5.0.3 but I am getting this error:

Permission to access 'http://packman.mirrors.skynet.be/pub/packman/suse/openSUSE_12.3/repodata/repond.xml' denied

And when I do zypper refresh, I also face this problem.

From the other side, I am facing another error while booting (and I believe this is because of the above problem):

doing fast boot
Creating devices nodes with udev
[ 1.274132] [drm:drm_pci_agp_init] *ERROR* Cannot initialize the agpgart module
[1.274726] DRM: Fill_in_dev failed

On this machine (and using another hard desk), it is running vicibox 4 successfully and really all the vicibox installations did not face trouble ...

What is the story of the packman mirror? Anyone is facing this? How I can overcome it?

Regards
Bilal

Hello;

Is it required to disable it from the repositories?
Also, what is the alternative (if it is required to add) for packman?

Usually it is sufficient to disable automatic updates for the repos when they are down. It is also possible to find an alternative mirror for that repo and put that one in its place. Repos are not usually down long unless that version of the OS is at end of life, but even then usually there is at least one mirror still in operation.

I don't think 12.3 is EOL, so patience (try again during a less busy moment or another day) may be in order.

or turn off the updates for the repo or use another mirror.

Hello;

I am still facing the below error which seems that it is related to the kernel, but I am not able to find more updated kernel, the one that is installed is 3.7.10-1.16 and really did not find any other newer one ! I am afraid the packman repository is related to upgrade the kernel (maybe?)

The error seems related to the RAM (because I see DRM), and that gives me indication that it is related to the kernel, how I can fix the below?

Code: Select all
doing fast boot
Creating devices nodes with udev
[ 1.274132] [drm:drm_pci_agp_init] *ERROR* Cannot initialize the agpgart module
[1.274726] DRM: Fill_in_dev failed

And it seems it is a problem that is related to kernel 3.7.10-1.16 which is used with vicibox 5.0.2, the below link is giving explaination:

Hello

I have the same problem and have noticed the Vicidial does not work well if he does of this update. my server usually has a maximum CPU utilization of 25%. Unfortunately, I was ordered to re-install my server and since this error runs the dialer with 50% CPU up to 97% even though I have the intsalliert again on another server with the same configuration where this problem-it was not, and since everything is working normally, good

Packman is all about multimedia packages and things. None of the kernel updates are taken from Packman. You can disable that repo if it is giving you issues but I am not sure why it's down. It will probably be fixed before too long I hope.

And this with vicibox 5.0.3?
It is same my kernel and I am facing this error even when I downgrade the kernel, I am trying to find higher kernel by finding repository that contains higher kernel.

But it seems, it is really problem between the OS and Kernel and Hardware .. A lot of ppl complained about it.

boot up a live-cd, chroot into the system and use zypper to install an other kernel and try to boot that

I tried older kernels but did not resolve the problem. I am trying now to find repository for newer kernel. But it seems it is bug related to those kernels for opensuse 12.3

No I can't write a howto on that, you need to find examples using google, search for something like "rebuild single kernel module"

Or you could try to blacklist that module and hope it works without it

1. Backup your data using a live-cd
2. install an other vicibox version and don't upgrade the kernel (if that was what caused the problem)
3. restore the data from the backup to the new install

the problem can be solved in the man in software reposotrity this changes things
1.Servername = packman.inode.at
2.Directory on server = / suse/openSUSE_12.3 /
then this error will be corrected.

But another problem is that asterisk just too much cpu power needed why I have not found out until now.

All other run normally such example
mysql max 20% cpu

and all other things that require 3-8% CPU performance

but asterisk always runs with almost 50% or about 50% cpu

which of course makes the day across distributed from time to time problems.

If anyone has a solution I would be happy to forward it.

What are the loadavg numbers? % CPU isn't the best way to measure load. If you have one program running and nothing else, it will be using 100% CPU. This doesn't mean that the CPU is running at 100% of it's full power. Just that the one program is causing 100% of the current system load. If that system load as reported by loadavg is 0.14, that means that one program is causing 100% of that 0.14 load.

On another note, I gave up on seeing if I could get the old packman repository to work. I've posted instructions in the patch thread about switching it over to use a different one. Here's the long and short of it:

1) sed -i '/baseurl/c baseurl=http://ftp.gwdg.de/pub/linux/packman/suse/openSUSE_12.3' /etc/zypp/repos.d/packman_12.3.repo
2) zypper refresh

And there you go. You will not be using a different copy of the packman repo. Enjoy.

Hi,

VERSION: 2.8-413a
BUILD: 130928-113

I recently installed vicibox 5.0.3 I had no problem with the installation until the update of packman. what I did is to ignore and continue the update then the whole installation process. So all are setup now and no issues when dialing. but what I noticed is the system load. right for example now there no agents login in the dialer but i have a load average of: 0.23 0.13 0.14.

1. I believe those load average values are not normal since no agents are login to the server. am i right?
2. do i need to do what Kumba said to replace the packman repo?then a zypper refresh and up to install the missing update to packman?
3. when i do number 2 will i get any problem since i already installed vicibox and have a working vicidial server?

thanks!

You might want to open your own thread. But you can update the packman repo. It's not worth discussing if it's your issue or not. Just do it and update the repo. If you still have the load then you can create a new post asking about it.

Hello;

As no one suggested for me solution to resolve this error, let us talk about another small text error which is related to vicibox 5.0.3 when the machine boot in. Actually it is displaying that the version is 5.0.2 while it is 5.0.3 so how I can fix this? From which file I can fix this?

cannot connect to " svn . eflo . net / agc_2-x / trunk " ,check your connectivity.

Even when i tried to hit this url using svn client,i got the same error.

I am new to this forum, so I searched all the threads related to this but could not find any proper solution. Is there any alternative to this or can i get any zip files for this package. Please help me

Do u have connection to the internet before hitting vicibox-express?
U should do a zypper refresh and zypper up first before doing vicibox-express to install all latest update for Opensuse and even Vicidial

Yes, i have the connection and during the zypper refresh i got an error like:

Permission to access '//packman.mirrors.skynet.be/pub/packman/suse/openSUSE_12.3/repodata/repond.xml' denied,
Somehow i managed to solve this by making some changes in the packman repository and successfully updated. But now i am getting an error during vicibox-express stage as:

cannot connect to " svn . eflo . net / agc_2-x / trunk ". I even tried to ping this url but i dint get any response.

How to resolve this.

I have no problem accessing svn.eflo.net, what happens when you ping, timeout or problem resolving the domain?
the ip of svn.eflo.net is 97.76.33.146 right now, try to ping that ip, if that works then you have a dns problem.
what is your dns settings?
can you ping anything on the internet, like 8.8.8.8 for example?

Hi Domedan,

I am able to ping the " svn . eflo . net ",but the repository at " svn . eflo . net / agc_2-x / trunk " is not working.I get an error during vicibox-express like,

Code: Select all
# vicibox-express

ViciBox v.5.0 Installer

Vicibox Express mode activated
svn : E000110 : Unable to connect to a repository at  '// svn . eflo . net / agc_2-X / trunk'
svn : E000110 : Can't connect to host ' svn . eflo . net ' : Connection timed out

Use of uninitialized value $string in substitution (s///) at /  usr /  local  /  bin /  vicibox-install. pl line 143.

This will install ViciBox in "Express" mode. This will result in a
single server installation performing all roles of the ViciDial Call
Center Suite. This is the simplest method of installation and generally
suitable for use with 20 agents or less. Recommended server specifications
are Quad-Core CPU, 4GB of ram or more, two 500-GB enterprise-class SATA hard
drives in RAID1. Software RAID can be configured through the partitioner
during installation as well as hardware RAID cards.

To continue beyond this point will be destructive to the installed system.

Do you want to continue with the ViciBox Express install? [y/N] :

My DNS settings are as follows:
Host name:vicibox
Domain name:I have given my company domain name

Name server 2: 172.16.0.2
Name server 3: 4.2.2.2
Default IPV4 gateway: 172.30.54.1

I got these IP address from the system admin of my company.
The ping command has been disabled in my company but we can check in the browser.

For SVN to work you need to be able to communicate with the SVN server on port 3690. Check with your network admin if this is the case.

elfo.net?

it's eflo.net, there is either a typo when you entered that or there is a serious problem with your install media.

try this:
Code: Select all
cd /tmp
