Hai all,
when dialing directly from my xlite, voice quality is good. But when dialing from vicidial , voice is not clear(I am not able to hear properly). This is happening when dialing over my SIP account. I tried changing the codecs(gsm then alaw/ulaw then both). Initially, I thought it is a problem with conference call.
But then, if I dial using PRI line, the quality is superb. I am stuck here. Any help is highly required and apreciated !!!
It is happening in both manual and autodial mode.
Asterisk: 1.4.21.2

first, i tried with gsm, then with alaw and ulaw. Finally I enable both. After that again, I enable gsm only(this time I unloaded alaw and ulaw in modules.conf)

That is most likely you problem. Also, you should check to see that your kernel process preemption is set to SERVER(no preemption), several distros(like CentOS) do not have this set and it can cause these audio problems.

You need to recompile your kernel, check the scratch_install document for the details.
