Delay between welcome and MoH

I install vicidial on inbound projects and found one issue. I have several in-groups for different times of the day. In-group have welcome message and MoH type without hold message.

Issue in that after welcome message I have 3 seconds delay before MoH starts. Looking in code found that moh dont start until $drop_timer reaches 3 seconds. What it variable for and why that limit exists?

i would expect it to be to reduce server load when you have many calls coming in at once and don't want to initiate MoH when most of them are about to "connect" to an agent (why bother starting MoH if you're about to turn it off?)

Ok, understand. But I have statistic, that some of the clients hang up while heard that 3-second silence after welcome message. I think there are must be option to disable such wait or when statistics of project shows that probability of agent should be become avialible in next 3 seconds (ex. 10 agents with average call duration eq to 1 minute).

Now I simple comment line with usleep on test system

just removing the usleep lines could cause you all sorts of issues if you every get much traffic backed up in queue. The 3 seconds wait before MoH is a load issue, but also it can be prolonged by how long it takes MoH to turn on as well as the kind of files you have in MoH.

From our experience we have not seen any kind of significant drop rate during those 3 seconds before. How long is your welcome message?

I think the reason of drops in that we have music at the background of welcome message. Music the same as MoH. Listener hear nothing after welcome, think that maybe disconnect happens and hangup themself.

That could certainly be a cause. Do you say please hold at all in your welcome message?

or your wait time is estimated at 22 seconds? (to get them past the hump)
