Whenever I add a new phone, the sip-vicidial.conf is never populated (has been empty).
My server is set to 'Rebuild Conf Files' but nothing happens regardless. The web user HAS permissions to edit these files. Can you please let me know what I might be missing?
Thanks.

You may be missing any of the information we can use to help you! LOL
Please post your entire setup (read the managers manual and the stickies). Post how you accomplished your installation and any other software that may be running.

screen -r says the following:
[root@localhost asterisk]# screen -r
There are several suitable screens on:
12545.ASTVDremote (Detached)
12014.astshell (Detached)
12533.ASTupdate (Detached)
12036.asterisk (Detached)
12542.ASTVDauto (Detached)
12536.ASTsend (Detached)
12539.ASTlisten (Detached)
12548.ASTVDadapt (Detached)
Installation was accomplished using Scratch install. Vicidial is working perfectly otherwise, other than auto-generating sip-vicidial.conf
in the server management page, auto generate conf files and rebuild conf files are both checked. Still no luck.

What is the exact process by which the conf files are generated? is there a cron perl script that runs and generates these files? If you can point me in a direction I can probably find out the problem myself without bothering you guys too much

Hello,
There is no need to Rebuild Conf Files=y.
Please set
Generate conf files:- Y
Rebuild Conf Files:- N
It should be Ok.
and please also check a;ll perl files are running or not.
Thanks & regards

I believe all those are generated by /usr/share/astguiclient/ADMIN_keepalive_ALL.pl, which is a cron job.
You may read the code and check the permissions, for /etc/asterisk for example. Check if you have the used perk modules installed. Or even better- run it manually with -debugX option and see where it breaks.
